[2014 KOREA TRIP] Day 4: JYP Entertainment + Cube Studio Cafe + Namsan Seoul Tower (N서울타워) + Cheonggyecheon (청계천) Stream

     Hello to all! ^_^
Here it is my blog post about 4th day of our trip to Korea last October; as well as my last post in 2014! Can't believe the day after tomorrow is 2015 already!!! ╮(─▽─)╭  I hope everyone have a great year ahead and may each and every day of yours be renewed with lots of happiness and love! Happy New Year!

Now, let's start! 시~~~작! (n˘v˘•)¬

October, 22nd 2014: It has always been my dream to visit JYP Entertainment building when I visited Korea and finally the day came! Hehehe. We took off from our Hotel early in the morning and arrived in JYPE building around 9/10AM i think (?) lol. Before that when we were at the Apgujeong Rodeo, we happened to spot the K-Star zone inside the subway station!

Was so happy to meet(?) my 2PM oppars! ★~(◡ω◡✿) After taking some photos, we finally continue our long walk towards the JYPE Building.

// 사랑♥ //

Ta-Da!♫ Thanks to my direction map i prepared earlier and my friend's GPS, we finally arrived at the JYP Entertainment Building! ^____^ Perhaps because it was early, it was so quiet. No fans, no people coming in and out from the building, no activities. Was hoping to accidentally meet some of JYP artist tho ☜-(ΘLΘ)-☞ lol. And because it was so quiet, we could shamelessly took tons of selca in front of the building and sit around for more than 15 minutes ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Our next destination after the JYPE Building is Cube Entertainment building. It was very close from the JYPE Building but there road was crowded because of traffic so we couldn't took any selca in front of the building. But then i remembered that Cube Studio Cafe also located near the JYPE Building, so we decided to give it a try!

The cafe was also so quiet.... lol. And definitely a heaven for the CUBE Entertainment artists fans! From outside, we spotted the giant B2ST's new single 12:30 poster. It was the day of the release of their new song so the cafe played 12:30 like more than 5 times when we were there hahaha. Thanks God we both love the song so we didn't get irritated XD.

Inside, they display Cube artists' (B2ST, 4Minute, BTOB, G.Na, etc) album, merchandise, photos, and many more. We decided to order a cold drink anyway despite the cold weather hahaha. Overall, we really enjoy our drinks and the cafe's atmosphere. ヾ(*´∀`*)ノ

And when we were about to go to the toilet, we accidentally spotted this huge message board where fans can leave a message in celebration of the release of their new song, 12:30 as well as B2ST 5th anniversary! I managed to leave some support message for them that read "B2ST Fighting! 두준 사랑해 (Doojoon I Love You)♥" hahaha ♪☆\(^0^\) ♪(/^-^)/☆♪

// 화이팅!♥ //

After sitting around about 15 minutes, we move to the pop-up park next to the cafe that has Cube artist' drawn in comic style all around the wall. It was so cute and unique! Make sure not to miss this cafe's outdoor area if you are visiting this cafe!

// View of Seoul from Cable Car //

After a long (and tiring) walk, we finally reached Namsan Seoul Tower (N서울타워) or also known as N Seoul Tower. We went up by the cable car and the view of Seoul from the cable car is no joke!! So beautiful!♥

You might already know that N Seoul Tower is famous for its Love Locks and often become the filming location of various Korean drama. One of which is K-drama 'Boys Before Flowers', where Gu Jun Pyo (Lee Minho) waits for Geum Jandi (Goo Hye Sun) in a freezing winter night. Remember, right? ^_^ So, N Seoul Tower is definitely a must-visit place when you are in Korea!
N Seoul Tower located on Mt. Namsan offers great panoramic views of the city, and has been a symbol of Seoul since it first opened to the public in 1980. The tower has not only been given a new look, but also a new name following a complete makeover. It is now a true cultural space with various performances, movies, exhibitions as well as upscale restaurants and snack bars. ()

 // Love Locks! //

We really enjoy walking around the tower and of course not forgetting to take some selca. It was quite crowded at that time that we need to queue to get some photos lol. (╥_╥) However, it is understandable because the N Seoul Tower is one of the well-known tourist sites for foreign tourists.

We also tried to get some photos of us with the tower as the background but looks like we failed. lol. Maybe next time! ^3^v And before we left, we stop by the souvenir shop and got myself a magnetic refrigerator decoration with N Seoul Tower illustration on it! So cute!

// Selca attempts with N Seoul Tower //

Our next destination is Cheonggyecheon (청계천) Stream! Actually we went to the popular shopping street, Dongdaemun (동대문) before but we didn't spend much time there. The street was so crowded so we ended up going to some random shopping mall. The price was pretty expensive but you can negotiate with the seller for cheaper price! But since we need to bargain, and we're not fluent in korean, we decided to leave.

We had a nice evening in Cheonggyecheon (청계천) Stream. We had time to rest our legs for a moment while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Cheonggyecheon Stream!v(⌒o⌒)v♪ Too bad we didn't come at night because i heard we can enjoy a laser show.
Until it was restored in 2005, Cheonggyecheon Stream existed only as a neglected watercourse hidden by an overpass. Today, it has been transformed into a haven of natural beauty amidst the bustle of city life.
Narae Bridge, expressing a butterfly in flight, and Gwanggyo Bridge, symbolizing the harmony of the past and future, are just two of the more than twenty beautiful bridges that cross the stream. The ‘Rhythmic Wall Stream’, lined with fine marble, sculptures, and Korea’s 8th stone building, Palseokdam, adorn the Cheonggyecheon Stream.
Cheonggyecheon Stream passes close to Deoksugung Palace, Seoul Plaza, the Sejong Center, Insa-dong Street, Changdeokgung Palace, and Changgyeonggung Palace, allowing visitors to easily visit major tourist sites after a leisurely stroll along the stream. ()

//  바로 치킨!♥ //

Because it was getting dark, we decided to return to the hotel. But before that of course we need a dinner! And because we were super tired from walking that day, we decided to have a takeout at Baro Chicken (바로 치킨). Actually this restaurant is a random restaurant we spotted in our hotel neighborhood. Turns out it was one of our most delicious dinner hahaha. I miss you, Baro Chicken :((((

And finally Day 4 come to an end. Day 5,6,7 left!  See you on 2015, guys!! ♪ ♬ ヾ(´︶`♡)ノ ♬ ♪

[2014 KOREA TRIP] Day 3: Changdeokgung Palace (창덕궁) + Jogyesa Temple (조계사) + Insadong (인사동) + Myeongdong (명동)

October 21th, 2014: It's our 3rd day in Korea- and also my 22nd birthday! Hehe <3 Today's first destination is Changdeokgung Palace (창덕궁). We were supposed to visit the Gyeongbokgung Palace (경복궁), but they're closed every Tuesday, so Mr. Lee took us to Changdeokgung Palace instead ^_^
Introduction
Changdeokgung Palace was the second royal villa built following the construction of Gyeongbukgung Palace in 1405. It was the principal palace for many of the Joseon kings and is the most well-preserved of the five remaining royal Joseon palaces. The palace grounds are comprised of a public palace area, a royal family residence building, and the rear garden. Known as a place of rest for the kings, the rear garden boasts a gigantic tree that is over 300 years old, a small pond, and a pavilion.()
Unfortunately my camera was broken the day before (and too lazy to take pictures with my phone lol) so i didn't take many photo of the palace T_T Mr. Lee told us the history of the palace and we toured around the palace for about 30-45minutes.

Although we went in the morning, the palace was quite crowded. There are many students in their field trips and tourists, especially from China and Japan.

Before heading to our 2nd destination, we still managed to buy some souvenir at the souvenir shop called K-HERITAGE. Got myself a pretty mini hand fan for 3,000 won and a clear file with illustration of Plum flower on it for 1,000 won. <3 "Plum flower, the symbol of the Great Han Empire (1897-1910)"

Introduction
Jogyesa Temple
is the center of Zen Buddhism in Korea, and is famous for being located in the city. The first thing you will notice at the temple are the lovely trees. These locust trees and baeksong trees in front of the Daeungjeon, the main temple building, are about 500 years old. One locust tree is about 26-meter high, and in the summer, provides a large amount of shade to enhance the mood of the temple. ()
Our 2nd destination today is Jogyesa Temple (조계사). The temple is located in middle of the city. There were a lot of colorful chrysanthemum flower around the temple- so beautiful! I really enjoyed going around the temple because it's such an eye candy- besides, the atmosphere is really nice. Would like to visit this temple again in the future. <3

From Jogyesa Temple, we continue our trip to Insadong street. After a little walk, we spotted the famous Ssamziegil (쌈지길)! Mr. Lee gave us 1,5 hours to going around the street. But we spent it all at the Ssamziegil lol XD
Introduction
Ssamziegil is a comprehensive shopping center located on the famous Insa-dong Street. It houses over 70 stores that sell various items, ranging from fashion and art to food and accessories, on four floors above the ground that are connected by spiral staircases. Moreover, diverse performances and exhibitions are regularly held on the first floor yard, while the open ceiling and the rooftop garden bring in natural elements for enhanced shopping experience. ()
// Pictures credit picturesofkorea.com //

Ssamziegil (쌈지길) is popular for its accessories shops, traditional art galleries, restaurants, and many more. Ssamziegil is definitely a must-visit place in Insadong.  We went 'OMG THIS IS SO CUTE u_u' and 'I NEED TO BUY THIS' like thousand times while going around the mall because there are sooooo many cute things, from socks, mugs, umbrella, bag, etc. But in the end we only buy few things because we can't afford it. lol. Too expensive; however that's understandable because most of the products is handmade craft. If you're looking for cheap souvenir, then Ssamziegil is not the place you're looking for.

I bought a very cute pair of socks for 2,000 won while my friend bought a cute mug for herself. Even the packaging is very cute omg T_T We also found a shop where you can take a photo sticker in Hanbok! Unfortunately we were run out of time so we didn't get a chance to try it. Maybe next time! ^_^*

We finally arrived at the top of Ssamziegil! There are a lot of cute cafes up here! Also, there's a "사랑의 담장 (Wall of Love)" where you can tie your love tags on the wall♥ Similiar to Love Locks at the Namsan Tower.

Before leaving, we found a traditional souvenir shop around the Ssamziegil so we decided to shop some souvenir for us to bring home! I bought a keychain set, a hand fan with the Sam Taeguk symbol (that found on the Korean national flag), and a set of Korean spoon&chopsticks.

I also bought a 2015 2PM calendar for 10,000won. Turns out, we can get that calendar for 7,000won in Myeongdong. lol T^T Ah, i also bought a hand fan at  Ssamziegil earlier. The fan has  "더위를 거절한다" that means Rejects the Heat and "저리가" (Get Out)  written on it over a sweaty hand. So cute, right? <3

// My "더위를 거절한다" fan lol //

Next, Mr. Lee drop us at the shopping heaven, Myeongdong. That was our last day with Mr. Lee by the way T____T After say goodbye, we decided to go to the nearest 7eleven to buy an umbrella. XD Mr. Lee always provide us an umbrella so now we need to bring our own umbrella. T^T We missed Mr. Lee already lol <3

// Lunch at Two Two Chicken //

We had lunch at Two Two Chicken in Myeongdong. We ordered half-half (half fried, half marinated) portion. Lol, we were really shocked because the portion was really huge. Didn't expect to get a whole chicken for two of us XD But we finished it all anyway hahaha ^__^

After lunch, we begin our shopping blast at Myeongdong. There are a lot of Korean famous cosmetics store like Etude House, Innisfree, Holika Holika, The Face Shop, etc there. After shopping for about 2 hours, we decided to get a coffee at Dunkin Donut. Truthfully, we were really tired so we need to take a rest for a moment lol.

// View of rainy Myeongdong street from Dunkin Donut ^_^ //

And since that day was my 22nd birthday, my super bff got me a birthday present at the Myeongdong Underground Shopping Center. <3 We were about to go back to the hotel by subway when we discovered a K-Pop store inside the subway station. It was like a heaven for a fangirl like me hahaha <3 They sell K-Pop CD/DVD and merchandise like calendar, keychain, name tag, photobook, poster, etc.

Was going to buy 2PM's 4th album 'Go Crazy' regular version for myself when my friend said 'I'm going to buy it for your for your birthday present.' I was like YAYYYYY hahahaha <3 In the end, she got me a limited edition of Go Crazy album and 2PM & GOT7 clear file. T___T 고마워, 친구야!♥♥♥♥

// Blog about my Myeongdong Shopping Haul last week. Make sure to drop by! ^_^ //

After back to the hotel to drop our stuff, we went out to get some Samgyeopsal (삼겹살) for my birthday dinner. We went around Seoulleung searching for some samgyeopsal restaurant but it's harder then we think lol. We finally managed to get to the restaurant after a very kind ahjussi help us with the directions. <3

And a birthday is not complete without a birthday cake, right? ^_^ After dinner we went to the nearest Paris Baguette to get a birthday cake. We bought a plain cake and decorated it with 'Happy Birthday' candles♥♥♥♥

That was my first time celebrating my birthday without family, overseas. lol. Now everytime i think about it, i can't help but smiling. I think that was my most memorable birthday in my life so far. <3

// Selca with my birthday cake <3 //

And finally Day 3 come to an end. We were dead tired that day lol. But still, we're really excited to see what's coming tomorrow! See you on Day 4!
